With changes happening in the world at the moment, the majority of us are putting in more time in our houses. It can feel tricky to follow a positive lifestyle when your gym in Bloomington is closed.
You may have become the educator, main cook, and parent in your household. Perhaps you are working from home for a time and hoping to establish some structure throughout the day.
During these unusual times, it can be tempting to lay around on the couch, staring at the news and movie after movie, and gradually falling out of a normal workout routine. We may be stuck at home, but we can always create ways to preserve healthy behavior! We’re sharing our preferred positive habits you can add into your changing day-to-day routine to stay active, support your immune system, and maintain momentum toward achieving your wellness objectives.
Try Home Workouts
One advantage of spending additional time at home is the added space in your day-to-day agenda. Go through your routine. Where can you find ten minutes for a quick workout? A successful sweat session doesn’t need to go on forever to be good for you. As long as your heart rate goes up, you will receive fat and calorie-burning advantages! Take a look at our 12-minute home fitness class you can finish anytime, anywhere!
Involve Your Kids in Your Workout
The pools may be closed, but there are still almost endless ways to offer fun projects your kids will want to do. After all, staying active isn’t just for mom and dad! Here are some of our preferred fun (and free!) ways your family can stay healthy all together:
- Walk the dog
- Bring a frisbee out of your house in the warm sun (hello Vitamin D!)
- Take a break for a bike ride or roller skate expedition
- Create a floral arrangement with your family’s blossoms
- Play ball in the yard
- Grab your sidewalk chalk and make a driveway mural
- Have a dinner cooking competition
- Turn on the music and have a dance break
Plan Healthy Meals
Are you trying your best to stay away from shopping for groceries? That works! Now is the time to try new things in the kitchen and use your favorite canned goods and frozen foods. With the children on break, long days at work, and the usual household chores, keep your mealtimes straightforward this season.
At FXB, we make good nutrition simple for our members. Use your favorite protein source from the freezer, pick a carb for your side, and incorporate some healthy fat. And there you have it: a healthy meal with little to no fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, call for a pizza and relax!)
